"Loops that fit" counts catalog wallpapers that cover the screen with at most 5% upscaling. ## How to set one on your Mac 1. [Download MacWall](https://macwall.app/download) for macOS 15 or later. Every download starts with a free 24-hour trial. 2. Open a wallpaper above and choose **Set on Mac**, or find it by name in the app. 3. Pick the display. On a Mac with several screens, each one can play its own loop. 4. On macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later, the same loop can play on the Lock Screen and as the Screen Saver with Pro. ## How these wallpapers are picked Each wallpaper's encoded resolution comes from the MacWall catalog. A loop counts as a fit when it covers the screen at native resolution with no more than 5% upscaling. The grid is ordered by likes within each group and updates as wallpapers are added. To size your own image for a Mac screen, use the [wallpaper size guide](https://macwall.app/blog/macbook-wallpaper-size). ## Sources - [MacBook Air (M1, 2020) tech specs](https://support.apple.com/en-us/111883), Apple, accessed 27 October 2026 - [MacBook Air 15-inch (M5) tech specs](https://www.apple.com/macbook-air/specs/), Apple, accessed 27 October 2026 ## Frequently asked questions ### What resolution should a MacBook Air wallpaper be? Match the native resolution: 2560 × 1600 for the MacBook Air (M1, 2020), 2560 × 1664 for the MacBook Air 13-inch (M5), 2880 × 1864 for the MacBook Air 15-inch (M5). Anything larger is scaled down cleanly; anything smaller is scaled up and looks softer. ### Are these still images or video? They are video loops that play behind your windows in the MacWall app, not still image downloads. You can preview every one on this site before installing anything. ### Do live wallpapers slow down a MacBook? MacWall decodes video in hardware and pauses playback behind full-screen apps and while the display sleeps, so the cost in everyday use is small. --- Source: https://macwall.app/wallpapers/display/macbook-air
